After my previous post on Picard products (click here for the post), several people asked me how I use them. As much as I love cooking, sometimes I just don’t have the time to do so (especially after a long day of work). I could order take-out but that’s not so good for my monthly budget. I could also reheat store-bought ready-to-eat dishes, but that’s not my cup of tea. Again, question of budget and well, taste too.
Today, I’m going to share my secret / not-so-secret with you – PicardSurgeles. As much as I love shopping for fresh vegetables and fruits, I’ve also developed a fondness for frozen products particularly from Picard Surgeles and Thiriet. Since we moved to our new apartment, we’ve been going to Picard Surgeles because it’s more convenient location-wise. But there are products you can find in one and not in another, so I guess it would be ideal to go to both once a month.
I’ve been eyeing the Prescription Lab beauty box for a while now, but I never took the final step to ordering it. I saw it a lot of times on Instagram and I always told myself I would try it someday. I really like the fact that some of the products in the box were full size and really useful which are actually the reasons why I was disappointed and stopped my subscription with Glossy Box and My Little Box (click here, here, and here for the posts).
This month’s Birchbox is just crazy. For only 13 Euros, you receive a box with a Mac Cosmetics lipstick worth 19.50 Euros, a 15 Euros gift certificate, and +++. That’s a least 35 Euros. I don’t even know how much the box is worth exactly – all I know is that it is a very good deal!
Hey guys! I’ve been craving so many dishes lately (no I’m not pregnant! 🤣 🤣 ). I wanted pizza, so I went to Pizza Carissimi (click here for the post). I was craving Spaghetti with Mussels and well, I went to get the ingredients. This recipe is super easy to make and ridiculously delicious!
I’ve been craving a lot of things lately – Spaghetti with Mussels, Pizza, … Oh, come to think of it, I’ve been missing good Italian dishes I guess. Anyways, Baby Girl and I made plans of hanging out in the city center today. Getting my eyebrows done, lunch at a restaurant, meeting up with a friend for coffee, picking my new glasses, a little shopping, and just happily walking in the streets of Metz center.
A couple of weeks ago, a French trainee of mine came back from a business trip in the US. We talked about it and he shared some of the culture shocks he experienced. Since I’ve been living in France (almost 8 years now!), I’ve constantly experienced culture shocks of my own, so it was interesting to hear a French point-of-view for once. Out of the many anecdotes he shared was Starbucks. On his first morning in Chicago, his colleague told him he would pick him up to have breakfast. He brought him to Starbucks. His colleague suggested taking a break in the middle of the day. They went to the nearest Starbucks. Then they went out for dinner. They ate their main dish and dessert, but they didn’t have coffee like French people do at the end of a meal. When they got in the car, he believed they were going home. Turns out, his colleague was driving them to …. yes, you guessed it – Starbucks. « Why didn’t we have coffee at the end of the meal back in the restaurant? », he asked himself.
Sadly, I haven’t been eating out for a while. It’s a pity though because I love eating out! But I haven’t had time, work was in the way, or a question of budget too! Anyways, I was having a quick drink with friends after work the other evening when I walked by the restaurant, L’Eveil in Metz, France. I was in a hurry to go home to be with Baby Girl, but I couldn’t help but think about the time we had dinner there.
Hey everyone! I know it’s been a while but hey, I had a good excuse – we moved to a new apartment! I know, I know you might wonder what’s so complicated about that. But anyone who lives in France knows how difficult it is to find a rental place and be approved. Living in Metz is much easier than in Paris or Lyon for example, but man when our application was finally accepted and I had the keys in my hand, I felt like I had just joined a marathon! But there’s no time to breathe and relax- next is moving out and moving in – which is just another step in this whole ordeal.
Hello! I hope you are all doing ok. Here it is total panic. We are supposed to move out soon. On July 1 to be exact. Problem is … we did find an apartment, but at the last moment the owner decided to rent the apartment out to friends. And now, we can’t seem to find another apartment! 😨
