Coquillettes Jambon

Hello everyone! How are you all doing?

As you might know, I am half Filipino-half French and I am married to a Filipino man. As Filipinos, it is part of our culture and heritage to eat rice everyday. Back in the Philippines, we ate rice up to 3 times a day, but here in France we usually have rice once a day. But that’s just because breakfast is usually a quick one and we don’t usually eat lunch at home. I was told recently by a client that apparently Asians have a sort of stomach enzyme which makes it easier to eat and digest rice. I still have to confirm that information. While eating rice so regularly is a real pleasure for us, it’s not the case for our daughter, Baby Girl. She has a hard time understanding why rice is so frequent on our dining table. LOL. If she could cook our meals, she would prepare pasta and French fries. I do try to cook pasta from time to time, but I never make fries at home. The smell of cooking fried potatoes is not one that I particularly like, so we save that for when we go to the restaurant.

Poulet Basquaise

Poulet Basquaise is of my favorite French dishes ever. Turns out, it’s one of the easiest thing to make as well, so it’s safe to say that I cook this at least once or twice a month. What’s great is that it is made with bell peppers and red bell pepper is a great source of vitamin C. I know a lot of people who have difficulties digesting bell peppers. Thank God we don’t have that problem! 馃槈

Crab and Avocado Terrine

Hello guys! What’s up? Today, I am going to write about last Saturday. If you read my previous post (click here for the post), you probably know that I was not at my best. I was upset and Baby Girl was away聽to聽her first Scout Weekend, so at 3PM, I couldn’t wait for the Husband to come home from work. I needed to talk to someone and as soon as I did, I felt light years better! So we went off to do one of my favorite activity – grocery shopping!

I knew that blogging daily would be difficult once I got back to work and I was right. 馃檨

Don’t get me wrong – I love my work. I feel lucky knowing that every day I wake up and I’m excited to start my day. It’s not always peachy, I’ll admit, but most of the time it is. But sometimes I just feel like I don’t have time to do everything I want to do. Blogging included.

Hosting at Home #2 – Filipino Empanadas

Hello! How are you today? I’m doing much better despite the problems we had this week (click here for the post).

We invited friends for lunch yesterday. When our ceiling problems started, I thought of cancelling our plans, but we were really disgusted. First because we love hosting at home and second because we don’t really know when we will see our friends again.

Beef and Bell Pepper Stir-Fry

Hey guys. Enjoying your break, I hope?

The Husband had two days off (Tuesday and yesterday), so I decided I would give myself a little break to be with him and Baby Girl. I did have to take care of a little work thing yesterday afternoon, but that only took about 2 hours. It’s been a while since we spent so much time together straight. Baby Girl is with one while the other works, but I can’t remember when we were all together for consecutive days. Perhaps during our last vacation in Qatar. Hmmm.

Baked Cannelloni

Hey guys! How’s it going?

Today’s recipe is going to be Baked Cannelloni. I’ve always wondered why is it that Cannelloni isn’t as popular as Lasagna. I mean, every Italian restaurant I go to always has Lasagna in their menu, but Cannelloni? It’s very rare. It’s not much different. Although Lasagna has b茅chamel. But recently, I was talking with a trainee of mine who is Italian and he mentioned that his Italian grandmother does not put b茅chamel in her lasagna. It’s so confusing. What is real Italian or not? It’s like the big debate with Pasta Carbonara, cream or no cream?

Hello, good morning! 馃檪 How are you today?

It is currently 9 in the morning right now. After I finish writing this blog post, I will clean up the apartment a little. The husband isn’t working today and he’s going to pick up our new dining table chairs this morning. I’m so excited about that. It feels like our apartment is finally looking like the home we imagined. Yay!
