I’ve been eyeing the Prescription Lab beauty box for a while now, but I never took the final step to ordering it. I saw it a lot of times on Instagram and I always told myself I would try it someday. I really like the fact that some of the products in the box were full size and really useful which are actually the reasons why I was disappointed and stopped my subscription with Glossy Box and My Little Box (click here, here, and here for the posts).
This month’s Birchbox is just crazy. For only 13 Euros, you receive a box with a Mac Cosmetics lipstick worth 19.50 Euros, a 15 Euros gift certificate, and +++. That’s a least 35 Euros. I don’t even know how much the box is worth exactly – all I know is that it is a very good deal!
Baby Girl has been back to school for 2 weeks now. This is the first time in a while where she isn’t the new girl anymore. Although she has never really showed us any signs of stress, I could tell that this year she was a little bit more relieved than in the past. She’s 10 years old and started CM2 (grade 5) this year. This also means this is her last first day in elementary school. Eeekk – where did time go??? 😱 I guess that’s how it feels like when you become a mom at a young age. I’m 32, so technically not-too-old (don’t you dare say anything about that. yes you!), but when I look at my ten-year old I kinda do feel old. Harhar.
I finally did it!! After months and months of talking about this, I finally ordered my Emma & Chloé jewelry box. It’s been more than a year that I’ve subscribed to beauty products and I thought it was the time to try something new. Click here, here, here and here for some of the posts. The concept of the jewelry box, Emma et Chloé, is pretty simple. Each month discover and receive a jewelry designer masterpiece. The month of August featured a bangle – the Jonc Solly.
Oh my God! I never thought I’d get it, but I finally received my Birchbox July and August 2018 on the last day of August. In fact, I was thinking of contacting Birchbox when by surprise I found it waiting for me in my mailbox. You see, we moved to a new apartment and I honestly forgot until the last minute about the change of address. I changed it online, but I knew that there was a big chance that they had probably sent it already to my old address. Honestly, I don’t know what happened. I don’t know if Birchbox went out their way for me to get my box or perhaps the new owners of my old apartment did. My bet is on Birchbox though. Anyways, I’m just glad that I finally got my box – plus this one is special, it’s the July and August combined!
After shopping for myself (click here for the post), it is time to shop for my 10-year school daughter who is going back to school on the 3rd of September. Actually, she’s sorta going back this week, but half-day only. The school calls it « stage de remise à niveau ». When the director asked me if it was something I was interested in for Baby Girl, I instantly agreed. After a 2-month break, I thought it would help her get back to the rhythm of waking up early, working on school stuff, eating at the proper time, and sleeping early. She can also work on the lessons she has difficulties in, particularly French. She’s doing well, but it’s always a bit tough to juggle several languages. We generally speak only English at home, Baby Girl speaks French at school but is also taking English and German classes, and the Husband and I speak in Filipino to each other at home.
I can’t believe the month of August is almost coming to an end! These past 2 months have been great. Baby Girl was off school and stayed at home. I tried to work less to spend as much time as possible with her. The Husband had a week off and we spent that together. Ahhhh … what fun that was! I simply cannot believe this is coming to an end! In a week, Baby Girl will be back to school and I’ll be back to working full-time. For this, we need to prepare ourselves accordingly, starting with new additions to our wardrobe. This post is for me, a selection of plus-size items, and the next post will be for Baby Girl.
May was a month full of public holidays so I had plenty of time to spend on Netflix. Plus, it was raining quite a bit in May and June, so we couldn’t really spend any time outdoors. But anyways, I love Netflix so this was pure pleasure!
Hello! I hope you are all doing ok. Here it is total panic. We are supposed to move out soon. On July 1 to be exact. Problem is … we did find an apartment, but at the last moment the owner decided to rent the apartment out to friends. And now, we can’t seem to find another apartment! 😨
I don’t know if you noticed, but I didn’t go shopping last week. 😱 My wallet was still recovering from Baby Girl’s communion. Haha. But you know me, I quickly went back to old habits. A little bit each time but regularly – that’s how I like it!
