After shopping for myself (click here for the post), it is time to shop for my 10-year school daughter who is going back to school on the 3rd of September. Actually, she’s sorta going back this week, but half-day only. The school calls it « stage de remise à niveau ». When the director asked me if it was something I was interested in for Baby Girl, I instantly agreed. After a 2-month break, I thought it would help her get back to the rhythm of waking up early, working on school stuff, eating at the proper time, and sleeping early. She can also work on the lessons she has difficulties in, particularly French. She’s doing well, but it’s always a bit tough to juggle several languages. We generally speak only English at home, Baby Girl speaks French at school but is also taking English and German classes, and the Husband and I speak in Filipino to each other at home.
Hello everyone! How’s the summer been treating you so far? ☀️
I am super excited to write about this amazing application that I’ve been using for a couple of months now – Too Good To Go. I decided to wait for a little while before sharing this good deal to make sure if I really liked it or not. Conclusion? I really really really like it!
Hey! I don’t know about you, but I am so fed up by the hot weather we’ve been having lately. I take a shower and my skin is still sticky. I don’t sleep as well, either from the heat or from the noise of the electric fan. And I’m worried about our pug dog, who is constantly breathing noisily from the heat. But what I do like about this weather is the food. Salad, lots of salads. The Husband is not a big fan of salads. He likes the typical Filipino meal of white rice, meat, and vegetables. But when it’s 40 degrees Celsius out and 30 degrees Celsius in, I simply do not picture myself cooking or baking in the kitchen. It’s genius!
Sadly, I haven’t been eating out for a while. It’s a pity though because I love eating out! But I haven’t had time, work was in the way, or a question of budget too! Anyways, I was having a quick drink with friends after work the other evening when I walked by the restaurant, L’Eveil in Metz, France. I was in a hurry to go home to be with Baby Girl, but I couldn’t help but think about the time we had dinner there.
I must be crazy to use the oven today, but I really really really love this recipe. Plus, it’s so easy to prepare! Yesterday was such a hot day so I probably wouldn’t have done it then though. Temperatures reached 36 degrees Celsius. I had to go home early from work because I felt ill. Problem was, I was sweating all morning, really sweating, and then in the afternoon it dried up. I knew I was going to be ill. By 4PM, I was sneezing, had a runny nose, and feeling chilly. Today, maximum temperature reached 26 degrees Celsius, but most importantly it was a little bit windy.
May was a month full of public holidays so I had plenty of time to spend on Netflix. Plus, it was raining quite a bit in May and June, so we couldn’t really spend any time outdoors. But anyways, I love Netflix so this was pure pleasure!
Hey everyone! I know it’s been a while but hey, I had a good excuse – we moved to a new apartment! I know, I know you might wonder what’s so complicated about that. But anyone who lives in France knows how difficult it is to find a rental place and be approved. Living in Metz is much easier than in Paris or Lyon for example, but man when our application was finally accepted and I had the keys in my hand, I felt like I had just joined a marathon! But there’s no time to breathe and relax- next is moving out and moving in – which is just another step in this whole ordeal.
Hello! I hope you are all doing ok. Here it is total panic. We are supposed to move out soon. On July 1 to be exact. Problem is … we did find an apartment, but at the last moment the owner decided to rent the apartment out to friends. And now, we can’t seem to find another apartment! 😨
I don’t know if you noticed, but I didn’t go shopping last week. 😱 My wallet was still recovering from Baby Girl’s communion. Haha. But you know me, I quickly went back to old habits. A little bit each time but regularly – that’s how I like it!
Rain or shine, if I want to eat a stew I’ll cook one. Truthfully when it comes to food I don’t really follow the seasons. Of course, I won’t eat a Tomato Salad when tomatoes are out of season and not any good. But nothing will stop me from eating a soup in the middle of the summer if I want to. Or a stew. 😋
