Hey, you! 🔖
Pars Vite et Reviens Tard by Fred Vargas.
As promised (to myself), I read another French book which was lent by my friend, Marie. 😊
This mystery slash police fiction was a great read. It's part of a series which I didn't know about (I got confused about that), but it can totally be read as a standalone.
Interestingly enough, as I was reading this I never once tried to guess who the killer was. Instead I was rather focused on trying to figure out how the Black Death or plague could have made its way back to Paris.
There were twists and turns I did not see coming. I especially loved the history part (the town crier!) and the eccentricity of the characters. It was a bit tough to get into (perhaps because of the language), but once I was in - there was no way of stopping me!
