Hey, you! 😊
"Twenty eight Euros (good for 4) for a Galette des Rois???," my Husband said in a shocked voice as he came home last week from the boulangerie.
Yeah, it's that expensive and you know what? Sometimes it isn't that great!
"No worries," I told my husband, "I have a great recipe and this time around I want to try adding a secret ingredient. "
At first, I was afraid that by adding another ingredient to my favorite Galette Des Rois recipe (click here for the recipe), I would ruin it, but it turns out that it made it even better! 🤤
Galette des Rois is traditionally made with a Frangipane which is crème d'amandes (almond cream) and crème patissiere (pastry cream). I'm not a big fan of pastry cream so the secret ingredient I'm using today replaces it perfectly.
Tip: if you're living in France, try the puff pastry from Grand Frais.
It's the best I've ever had here so far!
May the Epiphany bring you gifts of wisdom, kindness, and grace 🙏❤️✨
By the way, were you able to guess what the secret ingredient is? 👑
xoxo Elodie
