Hey, you! 🙂🙂
I finally got my booster shot yesterday. I wasn't so sure about it at first, because of the unfortunate side effects I experienced in the past. But I didn't want to lose my health pass which I would have if I hadn't had the booster. I believe that in a few days the health pass will become a vaccine pass so I don't know.
As much as I believe in vaccines and modern science, I don't know how I feel about having a covid vaccine booster 2+ times per year. I guess the fact that I had a bad reaction after the second vaccine freaked me out.
What motivated me to get the booster though was that the Husband had his in December and he did pretty well. So I said to myself, "If he can do this, then why can't I?" Right??
Contrary to the first two shots which were done at a vaccination center, I had it done at a doctor's office. The doctor was so nice that I'm actually thinking of switching family doctor. Poor thing was massaging his tummy the whole time I was in his office. I couldn't help but wonder if he had lunch that day. I mean, his office was pretty busy with non-stop incomings.
Unlike the first two times, I had the Moderna shot this time around. I had Pfizer before and because of the effects, we thought we would go with Moderna.
I don't remember if I talked about this here, but yeah I did experience some effects after my Pfizer shots. Not immediately after the shot. In fact, on the day itself or the days immediately after, I felt absolutely nothing. However, a month after the second shot I felt changes with my menstrual cycle!
My period went berserk! Usually when I have my period, it lasts strictly 3 days and that's it. After the vaccine, I was surprised to experience a 1-week period and losing so much blood as well. I don't want to get into the graphic details, but at times it was pretty scary. Consequently, it messed up my already low level of iron and potassium, which affected my heart. Again, it was pretty scary! I was weak, I couldn't hold a proper conversation, and I needed my husband's help to do things. I know I don't feel well when I don't feel like cooking for my family and honestly, cooking was the furthest thing in my mind then! So I guess you can understand why I was a bit scared about the booster shot.
This time around, I did feel some effects immediately after the injection. Yesterday, I felt pain on the injection site. Today, the injection site was red and really tender to touch. S, my daughter, accidentally touched it and oh my gosh, I gasped from the pain. I slept pretty much the whole day today and the weirdest thing I experienced was an osteoarthritis flare-up on my right hand. Fortunately, it was over by the evening. But it was the strangest sensation. A bit painful and really uncomfortable.
Anyways, how have you been? Have you also had post-vaccine effects?
