Hey, you! 😊
Our daughter, S, came home from the countryside last weekend, so naturally I was in the mood to celebrate. On Saturday evening, we went to eat dinner out (click here for the post) and for Sunday lunch, I decided to make Tartiflette, which I knew would make her super happy.
Tartiflette is a French classic dish made with potatoes, onions, lardons, and Reblochon cheese. It is important to use Reblochon cheese, if you use anything else, you cannot call it Tartiflette anymore. A friend uses Munster Cheese and so what she makes is called Munstiflette (I have to try that next time!)
I already posted my recipe here on the blog (click here for the post) last year and I also have an IG Reels, but I thought I would film a Youtube video as well. Nothing has changed in the recipe. It's not the traditional one though. I don't use white wine, however I do add a little of creme fraiche because I like my Tartiflette extra-creamy!
This recipe only uses 5 ingredients and as I always say when it comes to easy recipes with minimal ingredients, try to get the best you can. For this recipe, I make sure to get good potatoes. I find that the organic potatoes I can find here have a really nice potato taste. I also make sure to get good Reblochon. Sometimes you can find in the cheese aisle "Fromage pour Tartiflette", but I always skip those. I go for the Reblochon and that's it. I wish I could go to the cheese shop, but it's not convenient for me.
I asked online if you had to eat Raclette, Tartiflette, or Mont d'Or for one week straight, what would it be? Well, guess what? Tartiflette won hands-down!!!
Have a wonderful day! 🥶😆
xoxo Elodie
