Hey, you! š
It's already the 11th of December and I just realised that I haven't written here for the month of December yet! Whaaaaattt š±š±
What's up with that you might ask. Well, I've been busy with work and what not, but I've also been enjoying this festive period a lot.
Last year, I tried to post regularly here, which I am amazed I was able to. But in hindsight, I realised that it might have been because I wasn't feeling very well. I was staying in a lot, not wanting to go out at all. I talked about it on the blog in bit and pieces, but I don't think I even knew what was happening to me then.
I was just re-reading this post (Please Come Home for Christmas - click here) and realize now that a lot was happening then. I was freaked out in a major way by the death dreams I had of my dad, I was having health issues, and the Covid was super active. Speaking of the Covid - I truly feel that I had a before and after experience of having Covid. For soooo long, I was so worried and anxious about having it (and especially surviving it!) and when I finally did get Covid-positive this year, I was relieved to see that my body was able to fight it and get through with it. Covid is still currently in the air, but the anxiety has definitely been lifted off my shoulders and I just don't feel as worried as I was.
One of the things that shocked me about last year was that I only went to the Christmas market once (click here for the post). Only one time! I'm a big Christmas market lover so there definitely was something wrong with me then. This year, I've already been to the Christmas market 5 times and I plan to go back as often as I can! I simply can't get enough of churros, waffles, and all the delicious savoury food! No amount of money will get me to ride the Ferris wheel, but there is a city sky liner ride which I absolutely want to try with the Husband and S!
So yeah ... I've been busy working, going to the Christmas market, having date nights / afternoons, attending birthday parties, and preparing for Christmas / New Year's. Oh and I can't forget about the World Cup because that's also happening at the moment. Did you watch the France vs. England game last night? I seriously thought I was going to pass out! Allez Les Bleus! š«š·
Speaking of birthday parties, we attended little G's first birthday. I wrote all about her birth last year (click here for the post) and here we are celebrating her first birthday already! Time flies by so quickly! It was such a honour to be invited to her birthday and celebrate with our friends' families. Friends are truly the family we choose.
What else am I missing here? I feel like there's a few things I still need to share with you, but I can't remember. Oh yeah - got it! ā¬ļøā¬ļø
Tomorrow is the first day of S's internship at our city's local newspaper. She has wanted to be a journalist for as long as I can remember and somehow, she was accepted to join their internship program. I say "somehow" because everyone has asked us how she landed the gig. Apparently, you can only get in with connections which we do not have. A few months ago, we sent in her CV and motivational letter and prayed that she would be accepted. Well, they must have seen something that they liked in it I guess. I'm gonna try to write about it here this week, but it's so cute to see how excited and nervous S is.
S is not the only member of the family with exciting things happening to. The Husband has just left his job. In fact, his last day was last Friday. He has about 10 days off before he starts his new job. It's exciting because he will be able to work and go to "school" at the same time to get a French diploma. Unfortunately, his Bachelor's degree from the Philippines is not recognised in France, but apparently with this new job he can join a program for him to have a diploma. I'm truly happy and excited for him. I also look forward to spending this week with him, especially because it is my birthday week! š
I think I'm gonna leave things off here. But I'm hoping to come back real soon!
