Hey, you! What's up?
So much has been happening lately - I don't know what to think about it and where to begin.
But ... The Husband and I finally managed to finish and upload a new Youtube Video. Finally! It's a Thermomix recipe for Mashed Potatoes.
Remember Baby Girl's back-to-school? Click here for the post. Well, I was feeling a little blue that day. Realising that Baby Girl isn't really a baby anymore. Anyways, the Husband and I took the day off to comfort each other, well more me. I decided I needed a pick-me-up in the form of one of my favorite dishes ever - Mashed Potatoes.
Nowadays, I make my Mashed Potatoes using the Thermomix. Like I mentioned in the video, my father probably hates me right now for not making Mashed Potatoes the way he thought me. Using a food mill and lots of butter and cream. Admittedly, his way is still the best way to have mashed potatoes. That's true. But the Thermomix version comes a close second and super easy to prepare! Sorry Dad! 😊
Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
1kg Potatoes (the creamy type), peeled and sliced
350g Milk
30g Butter
2 tablespoons Creme Fraiche or Heavy Cream
a pinch of Nutmeg
Salt
Black Pepper
Directions:
Add the whip
Add the potatoes and milk. Cover with the lid, but without the measuring cup.
Cook 30 mins. / 95°C / reverse / speed 1
Add the butter and creme fraiche.
Season with nutmeg, salt, and black pepper.
Cook 40 secs. / speed 4
Serve hot and enjoy!
I particularly love enjoying Mashed Potatoes with fish. Especially when it's been cooked in sautéed onion, garlic, and tomatoes. If you haven't tried this combination, you definitely should!
