Sinigang na Baboy | Filipino Pork Sour Soup

Updated: Mar 12, 2022

Hey, you! šŸ˜ŽšŸ˜Ž

Here in France we like to regularly eat soup in the winter to warm us up from the freaking cold but then the other day I realised that in the Philippines, we used to eat soup all the time! Obviously, there's no winter there so maybe ... we just like to eat soup. šŸ˜‹

One of the Philippines' most popular soup is Sinigang. In fact, it was named Best Soup in the World in 2021 by Taste Atlas.

Sinigang Soup is a Filipino soup known for its sour and savoury flavour. It is made with meat or fish, vegetables of choice and typically tamarind as the souring agent.

Personally, I love Sinigang with Pork or Salmon Belly. The fat balances the acidity. Living abroad sometimes makes it difficult finding the ingredients, like the vegetables so I just put whatever I like. I especially love Okra in my soup. Nom nom nom.

By the way, I have already written a blog post about Sinigang na Baboy here (click here for the post) and there's a YouTube video (click here for the video) as well, and in connection to this post a Reels (click here for the reels).

Do you also love Sinigang soup? ā¤ļøšŸ‡µšŸ‡

xoxo Elodie
